Provincial Nomination Visa

The BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC (EEBC)
routes are intended for international graduates or workers with the education, skills and
experience required for high-demand occupations in B.C.

The Provincial Nomination Skilled Worker Visa:

Similar to a Federal Skilled Worker Visa, but it restricts the applicant to work and live in British Columbia for no less than two years. The criteria for these types of visa is changeable, according to the needs and political whims of the individual province, and there is often a strict limit to the number issued each year.
1) Minimum two years of directly related full-time (or full-time equivalent) work experience in the skilled occupation that has been offered to you, and, if applicable, the credentials and qualification requirements of the position.
2) An offer of indeterminate, full-time employment from an eligible B.C. employer at a wage that meets industry standards.
3) Evidence that you meet minimum income requirements.
4) Language proficiency.

Minimum Income Requirements - Express Entry BC

To be eligible for the BC PNP's Express Entry BC streams, with the exception of the International Postgraduate stream, you must demonstrate that you are able to support yourself (and your dependants) according to your:
  • annual wage in B.C.
  • location of residence in B.C.
  • number of dependants
The BC PNP has established minimum family income thresholds for Metro Vancouver and the rest of B.C. Your family must meet the minimum family income threshold for your chosen area of residence.

Business Investor Visas

In addition to skills, British Columbia is looking to attract experienced investors and entrepreneurs with the capital to set to work creating new business and employment opportunities in BC. For those who have the financial clout to demonstrate the CAN $600k minimum level of net worth, and the liquidity to commit to an investment of not less than CAN $200k, a BC business visa could be the ticket.
The Entrepreneur Immigration stream has experienced a sustained increase in demand, with an inventory of more than 1,900 applications. We are aware of the impact of increased processing times on BC PNP applicants and their families.
In order to maximize the economic impacts of the program, the BC PNP is prioritizing business applications based on significant economic benefit, including applications in the Regional Business Succession Option. These priority applications will be processed within 12-18 months of receipt.
